Update on community-based care center

Published: October 4, 2022

Currently, there are 15 people living at the Lhak-Sam Livelihood Center including the children. Some came to the center because they couldn’t cope with how they have been prejudiced and discriminated against in their very place of origin. Some were linked to the center because they were sick and weak and had no one to look after them and nowhere to go, and some were sadly abandoned by their own family members and relatives because of their HIV status. They are disadvantaged people, because they come from a generation of poor family backgrounds, are uneducated, unemployed, living with HIV, and some are dependent on alcohol, with a lack of energy to live meaningfully and incapable to think and grow in life.
